So this is going to be my first English blog post on blog.leningratt.at. Hope you’ll enjoy it.
There is an idea which obsesses me since I’m 15 years old, the idea that all people are sharing their thoughts. For all those who read the hitch hiker’s guide through the galaxy, you can compare it to a babelfish, only more impressive. The babel fish only supports to share thoughts you’d like to share, the thing I’m talking about would share anything, anytime and anywhere. And for me it seems like it’s going to work in future. It’s going to be realized by technique, by Internet and mobile Internet connections.
I started to write a story about this, about a world where everyone knows everything at anybodies mind, but i stopped, it’s to hard to imagine, also for me. When you walk through the park and you hear all those thoughts about your shoes, how would you act?
But let’s take it to a more realistic step. As i wrote in my blog on the 5th of July it is possible to connect anybody anytime to the Internet, almost everywhere. I started to use last.fm again after i realized that it’s powerful and it makes things easier. If everything is recorded by some kind of service, what music I’m listen to, what I’m swearing about, which films I’m watching, which books I’m reading… You could look at me, see my profile pages at those services and you could see if it’s interesting for you to meet me, or if it would be better to leave me alone.
Communication is separated from time and space, you can share everywhere everything, and it will stay in the Internet for ever, because if something is in the Internet it won’t go away anymore, so it will stay there for ever.
Last.fm, Flickr, Youtube, Qik, Ustream are services which offer possibilities to that effect. And there will come more, and more, i see the day coming where i don’t have to do nothing to publish anything, it will just happen, and those who it may concern will see it the others don’t see it now either.
